What’s inside

  1. Today: the cycle as a bloom, one petal a day, with the next period's estimate and its range
  2. A calendar told apart by shape: logged period days and the estimates of the next period and the fertile window
  3. Log a day in a few taps: flow, pain, symptoms, mood, sleep and a private note
  4. Patterns from the user's own logs: cycle lengths, what shows up before a period, symptoms by phase
  5. Ask your logs (AI): answers with numbers from the user's own cycles, never medical advice
  6. For your doctor: cycle dates, lengths, heavy days, pain and flagged notes, shared as text

About this template

Overview

A linen notebook, a pencil, a cup and a glass bud vase with two calendula stems…

Calendula is a period and cycle tracker for adults who want a calm, private one: the current cycle drawn as a bloom of days on Today, a calendar told apart by shape, a day logged in a few taps, and patterns drawn only from the person's own logs. Every estimate says it is one, and none of it is birth control.

The look is white and plain: ink for every choice, calendula orange only for period days and a clear blue only for the estimates, so each colour means one thing on every screen. A clinic, a women's health brand or a creator can ship it as their own: the short reads, the symptom lists and the plans are data.

Screens

Welcome, five onboarding steps and a first estimate built from the answers, the paywall, Today and its phase sheet, the calendar, a day's log, Type it, Period dates, Insights, all cycles, a cycle, a symptom across cycles, Ask your logs, For your doctor, Share with a partner, Join with a code and a partner's view, You, Settings, Reminders, Back up with email, six short reads, When to talk to a clinician, Privacy, Terms and About: 33 screens, light and dark.

AI and backend

Supabase keeps each person's logs, settings and questions, readable only by their owner, with the rules in the database: one log a day, checked values, share codes that expire after 7 days and work once, and a partner who reads only a published view. Everyone starts as an anonymous user; an email with a 6-digit code keeps the logs on a new phone. One Edge Function runs two AI tasks with Gemini against a daily allowance: Type it (a sentence read into today's log) and Ask your logs (Plus). Questions about a condition, medication, contraception or the chance of pregnancy are refused before the model, and nothing is sent until the user allows it once.

Monetisation

Calendula Plus through RevenueCat, yearly with a 7-day free trial or monthly: twelve cycles and the patterns in Insights, Ask your logs, For your doctor and partner sharing. Logging, the calendar, the estimates, reminders, Type it and export stay free.

Health and privacy

Calendula is not a medical device and does not replace professional care. Its estimates come from the user's own logs and are not for birth control; it names no condition and judges no value, and When to talk to a clinician lists the signs to see a clinician and to get urgent care, from NHS, CDC and NIH patient pages. No ads, no account needed to start, export and Delete my data free.

Setup

It opens on a sample person ten cycles in, with no setup. Connect Supabase for accounts and backup, add the Gemini key for Type it and Ask, then RevenueCat for Plus. Reminders are local notifications.

Set up after you fork

Your copy opens with the AI assistant that built it. Do the steps in order: connect what a step asks for under Server, then send each prompt.

  1. Connect Supabase and apply Calendula's migrations

Server › Backend › Supabase. Turn on anonymous sign-ins, apply the two migrations in supabase/migrations in name order (the AI kit, then Calendula), and keep the Email provider on for backups.

    Prompt for the AI

Connect this app to my Supabase project: set EXPO_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_URL and EXPO_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_ANON_KEY, turn on anonymous sign-ins, apply the migrations in supabase/migrations in name order, and check that a new person can log a day and see it again after a relaunch.

  2. Send 6-digit codes from Supabase

Set the email OTP length to 6 and put {{ .Token }} in the Change Email Address and Magic Link templates, so Back up with email and Restore use a code.

    Prompt for the AI

Walk me through Supabase Authentication for Calendula: email OTP length 6 and {{ .Token }} in the Change Email Address and Magic Link templates, then test Back up with email with my address.

  3. Add the Gemini key under API keys & secrets

Server › API keys & secrets: GEMINI_API_KEY from a paid Google AI project, AI_FREE_UNITS_PER_DAY=3 (Type it, three a day) and AI_PRO_UNITS_PER_DAY for Plus.

    Prompt for the AI

Add GEMINI_API_KEY, AI_FREE_UNITS_PER_DAY=3 and AI_PRO_UNITS_PER_DAY=100 as secrets for the ai function.

  4. Deploy the AI and webhook functions

Deploy supabase/functions/ai and supabase/functions/revenuecat-webhook (the webhook with JWT verification off), then try Type it with a sentence.

    Prompt for the AI

Deploy the ai and revenuecat-webhook Edge Functions in supabase/functions with my secrets (revenuecat-webhook with JWT verification off), then call the ai function with { "task": "usage" } and try Type it from the app.

  5. Sell Calendula Plus with RevenueCat

Server › Monetization: an entitlement "pro", a yearly package with a 7-day free trial and a monthly one, the public SDK keys, and the webhook URL with its secret.

    Prompt for the AI

Set up Calendula Plus with RevenueCat: entitlement pro, offering default with $rc_annual (7-day free trial) and $rc_monthly, add EXPO_PUBLIC_REVENUECAT_IOS_KEY and EXPO_PUBLIC_REVENUECAT_ANDROID_KEY, set REVENUECAT_WEBHOOK_SECRET and register the revenuecat-webhook URL in RevenueCat.

  6. Have a clinician read the health pages

Before you publish, ask a clinician you trust to read the six short reads and When to talk to a clinician (src/services/learn/) for your country, and add your own privacy policy that names Supabase, Google and RevenueCat.

    Prompt for the AI

List every health statement the app shows (src/services/learn/ and the screens' copy about cycles and care) in one document I can send to a clinician for review, with where each one appears.

Questions

Is it free?

Copying a free template costs nothing, not even credits; a Premium one is a one-time purchase per website. Chat changes and builds use credits.

What do I own?

You own the app made for you. The template’s code stays InspireUI’s and is licensed for use in your apps (Terms › Our intellectual property).

Do I need to know code?

No. Ask the assistant for changes in plain words; the full source is there when you want it.

Does it come with a backend?

No. A full app names the backend it needs and you connect your own under Server; a design runs on sample data.

Can I change the design?

Yes. The Design tab sets the brand colour, colours, fonts and corners at no credit cost; the assistant changes the rest.

Which plan do I need to publish?

Creator or higher builds and uploads to the stores, with your own Apple and Google accounts. A Premium template’s app builds on any plan once its website is connected.

Can I download the source?

Yes, with Download source or Push to GitHub, once your workspace has bought a plan, credits or a paid template. A Premium template’s app also needs its website connected.

What if it was made with an earlier FluxNative?

Your copy works as it is. Ask the assistant to update it for newer features such as app languages and currencies; it is the last setup step.

Ready to make it yours?

Start from Calendula Period & Cycle Tracker App and change anything by chat. Your copy comes with the full source.

Free to copy. No credit card required.
