FluxNative vs Bolt
Both write code with AI and can produce a React Native project. Bolt leaves store builds to command-line tools on your computer; FluxNative builds, signs and uploads for you.
The short answer
Choose Bolt if you mostly build websites and web apps, want hosting and a database included, and can run command-line build tools yourself. Choose FluxNative if the product is a mobile app and you want signed builds and store uploads in one workspace.
Key differences
Web or mobile first
Bolt builds web apps, or a React Native project if the first prompt asks for mobile; Bolt's docs say a web project doesn't easily switch to mobile. FluxNative builds only native mobile apps.
Getting onto phones
Store binaries for a Bolt project come from running a build command on your computer. FluxNative compiles signed APK, App Bundle and IPA files on its builders, no Mac needed.
Store uploads
A Bolt project can reach TestFlight with a command-line build tool; the Android upload, listings and review stay in the consoles. FluxNative uploads to TestFlight and Play testing, sends the listing and submits for review after you confirm.
Backend
Bolt Cloud includes a database, sign-in, storage and functions; Supabase on paid plans. FluxNative has no database of its own: it connects your Supabase, Firebase, Appwrite, Cloudflare or own API and creates the tables there.
When Bolt is the better choice
- You build websites and web apps, plus the occasional mobile app.
- You want hosting, a database and sign-in included, with no other account.
- You want two-way GitHub sync and can run command-line build tools yourself.
When FluxNative is the better choice
- You want signed iOS and Android store builds without a Mac.
- You want TestFlight and Google Play uploads and the store listing in one place.
- Your data lives, or should live, in your own Supabase, Firebase or Appwrite project.

Full details
- What it builds
- FluxNative: A React Native project in TypeScript: real native source code you own.
- Bolt: Web apps in JavaScript; a React Native project when the first prompt asks for a mobile app.
- Getting the app onto phones
- FluxNative: Signed Android APK and App Bundle and iOS IPA, built in the cloud. iOS builds need no Mac.
- Bolt: No store builds in Bolt: you download the code and run a command-line build tool on your computer.
- Code ownership
- FluxNative: Full source in the Code tab, exportable as a .zip any time.
- Bolt: Download as a .zip; two-way GitHub sync; import from GitHub.
- What the AI starts from
- FluxNative: Chat, screenshots and images, a working template, or an existing Expo Router app uploaded as a .zip (paid plans).
- Bolt: Prompts and voice, images, documents, Figma frames, GitHub or Lovable projects.
- Preview and testing
- FluxNative: Live preview in a device frame and 30-day share links; on paid plans, APK install by QR code and TestFlight.
- Bolt: In-browser preview; a companion preview app on a phone by QR code.
- App Store and Google Play
- FluxNative: Uploads to TestFlight and Google Play, sends the listing and Play's Data safety form, submits for App Review and releases to Play production after you confirm. You create the app record once in each store console, and a new Play app's first upload is done by hand in Play Console.
- Bolt: Not built in. A command-line build tool can send iOS builds to TestFlight; listings and review happen in the store consoles.
- Backend and data
- FluxNative: Supabase, Firebase, Appwrite, Cloudflare or your own API; the assistant creates tables, rules and functions.
- Bolt: Bolt Cloud database, auth, storage and server functions; Supabase on paid plans; Stripe.
- Coding agents and editors
- FluxNative: Remote MCP on paid plans: one connection lets Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code and others create and edit your apps.
- Bolt: GitHub sync for any editor. Connects to MCP servers (Notion, Linear, GitHub); documents no MCP server of its own.
- Pricing
- FluxNative: Free plan with welcome credits to build and preview in the browser; native builds, store upload and remote MCP on paid plans.
- Bolt: Free: 1M tokens a month (300K a day). Pro from $25/month for 10M tokens.

Frequently asked questions
Can Bolt build a native mobile app?
- Yes, a React Native project, when the first prompt asks for a mobile app. The store builds are made outside Bolt with command-line build tools.
Do I need a Mac to publish an iOS app with FluxNative?
- No. FluxNative compiles the IPA and uploads it to TestFlight. You need an Apple Developer account.
Can I keep using GitHub with FluxNative?
- Yes, one way: FluxNative pushes the app's source to a branch of your GitHub repository on every plan, and edits made on GitHub do not come back. You can also export the app's full source code as a .zip at any time, and on paid plans Claude Code and other agents edit it over remote MCP.
