Update a Commerce app

New FluxNative Commerce versions are free. Remake on the App tab brings one into your app as one version you can undo, keeping its bundle ID, signing and site.

Steps

  1. Open App in the project panel. The FluxNative Commerce row says Up to date, or which version is available. On the Commerce page, the app shows New version.
  2. Open the row. It shows what's new, Your changes (files changed since the app was made, which the remake replaces; the look is kept), the files it removes, and the site.
  3. Made from FluxBuilder? Export env.dart and the config files again, choose Upload files, then Read the files and Use these files. An app started from the template uses its connected store.
  4. Choose Remake on …. It's free and makes one version.
  5. Had changes of your own? Choose Redo my changes: the assistant redoes them on the new version in a new chat, for about the credits it shows.

What a remake keeps

The bundle ID, signing, build numbers, store settings, connections, .env, icons, the site, the app's look (its style, colours, fonts and light or dark start), the app's name and other App settings, and its app type: the new version keeps only that type's code, and nothing your app left out comes back. Every other file becomes the new version's, and a file only your app has is removed. A FluxBuilder app takes its store settings from the new files, which must be the same type of app.

Good to know

  • Version history undoes a remake: the app goes back as it was.
  • When the remade app's store is on another website than its site, the row says so: tick Remake anyway to go ahead, and builds then need a site for that website.
  • FluxBuilder files of another type of app (a driver app's for a store app) are refused: make a new app for them.
  • Nothing updates by itself. Whoever made the app gets an inbox note and one email per new version.
  • New versions are free for life while the purchase holds. After a full refund the row says No updates.
  • Remaking needs permission to edit code, uploading FluxBuilder files permission to create apps, and Redo my changes permission to run the assistant.
